Wondering what food spots there are in Joondalup? In short, there’s loads. Not only is Joondalup a shopping hub, Joondalup has a number of fantastic places to eat, depending on what you’re after. In this post we’ve decided to put together 5 spots that we’ve eaten at before (and recommend) in Joondalup.
1. The Old Piccadilly
The Old Piccadilly is a small pizzeria that serves a wide range of pizzas (including dessert pizzas!). Their menu covers classic pizzas, meat pizzas, gourmet pizzas, vegetarian pizzas, garlic bread pizzas, dessert pizzas, calzones and fresh salads.
On our visit we had the 3am kebab which features satay chicken, meatballs, bacon, capsicum, onion, mozzarella, satay and aioli. It was delicious. The pizza had some of the best pizza dough we have ever had!
Afterwards we had the rocky road dessert pizza which was also delicious. A good dessert pizza will always win us over. It was topped with nutella, strawberries, marshmallows, turkish delight and peanuts.
The Old Piccadilly is located at 63 Regents Park Road. Close to the Joondalup hospital. The Old Piccadilly has street parking, perfect for those who want to quickly grab a takeaway pizza on the go (Yes, they do both dine in and takeaway! And they’re available on Uber Eats).
Tuesday – Thursday: 11:30am-2:00pm and 5:00pm-8:30pm
Friday and Saturday: 11:30am-2:00pm and 5:00pm-9:00pm
Sunday 11:30am-2:00pm and 5:00pm and 8:00pm
2. Varsity Bar
Having only opened up mid 2018, Varsity Bar is one of Joondalup’s newer additions. However, that doesn’t prevent it from being one of the most well known. Varsity has built up a reputation of being a fantastic venue to hang out with friends after work or on the weekend, eat burgers and enjoy a beer.
Their american style menu features burgers, pizzas, salads, fried chicken, loaded fries, a number of different sides (such as nachos, fried mac n cheese sticks and onion rings) and desserts.
Varsity is located at 20 Reid Promenade, close to the Lakeside shopping centre. Aswell as the Old Piccadily, they also offer takeaway and are on UberEats.
Sunday – Thursday: 11:00am-10:00pm
Friday and Saturday: 11:00am til late
3. 2 Fat Indians
Two Fat Indians serves authentic Indian cuisine which is complimented by their incredible hospitality.
Their menu has something for everyone with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. During our visit the food took our breath away, not because of the spice but because of how delicious and flavourful it was! Our personal favourite dishes were the honey chilli cauliflower entree and the butter chicken curry. They were out of this world. **Don’t forget about the funky cocktails that they have**
Two Fat Indians is located at Shop gd T 173-74 in the Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre – just outside the centre at the entrance closest to the Joondalup train station. They offer both dining in and takeaway options.
Monday – Sunday: 11:00am-10:00pm
4. Paper Avenue Cafe
Now we’ve talked a lot about Paper Avenue on our blog and our Instagram. But that’s cause they’re so delicious. Paper Avenue is a small (but well known) cafe that features great coffee and incredible breakfast, lunch and desert items. Their all day menu includes gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options, so there’s something for everyone.
Paper Avenue is located at 52 Davidson Terrace, close to the Lakeside shopping centre.
Monday – Friday: 7:00am-3:00pm
Brotzeit is a german restaurant that serves authentic German cuisine. Their menu covers both lunch and dinner with $15 lunch specials, kids dishes, main courses, light dishes and desserts.
Their drink menu features bottled beers and ciders, cocktails, draft beer and wine, ensuring that you can enjoy a drink with friends over lunch or dinner.
When we visited Brotzeit we tried their cheese spatzle with pork belly which was yum. We also tried their $15 lunch special beef burger, which was delicious, but we thought it was a little pricey because the burger was quite small.
Brotzeit is located in the Lakeside shopping centre.
Monday – Tuesday: 11:00am-6:00pm
Wednesday – Friday: 11:00am-10:00pm
Those are the 5 spots in Joondalup that we’ve eaten at and recommend. Honestly we could have made this blog 10 times longer because there are so many great places to eat in Joondalup but we hope you enjoyed this short snippet of 5 that we have eaten at and recommend.
